The university has invited professional teachers from Russian cooperative institutions with which YCTU has a joint program to give guidance for music, dancing, piano and violin majors.

The School of International Education of YCTU has received foreign students for years. The school has run its foreign student education project since 2000, with a complete teaching system and standardized teaching processes. The teachers have rich experience in the teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, many of whom have overseas teaching experiences. Foreign students enter appropriate classes after placement tests. Meanwhile, the school has made long-term cooperation agreements with international partners to set up Chinese short courses. Presently, the school has developed language and culture courses such as Chinese, T’ai Chi, Chinese calligraphy, English, etc. These courses have been well received by our partner institutions and students.

In addition to Chinese studies in the classroom, the School of International Education also arranges various regular activities: every week, students from School of Liberal Arts and School of Foreign Languages are invited to communicate and interact with foreign students and to help them in studying Chinese one on one.

Our foreign students are encouraged to participate in various campus activities with Chinese students to show the style of foreign students and enhance the friendships between Chinese and foreign students. Also, off-campus linguistic and cultural practices are arranged every semester to improve international students' understanding of and experience with Chinese culture.

In recent years, the foreign students have been representing YCTU and taking part in the “Shared Joy in Jiangsu”–Chinese Speech Contest, and they have achieved outstanding results, including First Prize and Group First Prize.

Over the years, YCTU has been forging its core competences by orienting itself to Teacher Education, Coastland Area and Old Revolutionary Area, and strengthening the university’s administration and management to promote the academic, economic and social development.
